May 28: Pop-Up Exhibition @ Barts Pathology Museum

Following the private view and round table discussion on Thursday 26th the exhibition will be moving to the wonderful Barts Pathology Museum for a one day only Pop-Up event. Responding to Medieval and Renaissance objects eight artists have created unique pieces ranging from scultpure, to film, and engraving. All eight pieces will be on display with information about the object that inspired the piece. May 26: Round Table & Private View @ QMUL

‘The Matter of Objects’ is a collaborative project that brings together the work of medieval and early modern researchers with contemporary art practitioners. Doctoral students from across Europe have identified objects that serve as gateways into their research. Objects include a sixteenth-century witch’s bottle, a Bird of Paradise skin, and a seventeenth-century devotional print for the use of prayer beads. The doctoral students have been paired with artists of diverse media (sculpture, print, conceptual) to produce a response piece.
